Pumpkin Walk

A few years ago, one of our children went on a field trip to Logan to the pumpkin walk. They kept going on and on about it. We decided we would go one night for Family Home Evening. We had such a great time we have tried to go every year (they only hold it a couple days in October, so we don't always make it).
The pumpkin walk is volunteers or groups of volunteers who make their scenes out of pumpkins or gourds of some sort...it is amazing what some come up with...check out our "walk". Remember that the majority of the scenes are made with painted pumpkins...

The walk started with M&M's...in every scene there was a pumpkin painted like an M&M...Joran took the responsibility of finding it!

Geoffrey from Toys R Us

California Raisins

Band-aid commercial... our little ones found this hilarious :)

This was a day care, but the painting on the face amazed us!

Star Wars

C3PO, Yoda, R2D2

Our favorite...Yoda...

seeing as we have a dog that seems to scrounge for food...we likes this one as well

The hamburgler...so sad, my kids didn't know who this was

good ol'Ronald playing with the kids as they eat happy meals

Where the Wild Things Are

Pioneers

Mario and Luigi

this is from a Pepsi commercial back in the 80's with Michael Jackson...

Here are the pepsi drinkers ... am I dating myself that I actually remember this commercial??

This Keebler scene was my favorite...there are little details that are so clever...you may have to click to enlarge...

More Keebler cookies

More Keeber

Fruit of the Loom ...so clever

Ok...I love Green Giant as well...so many details...all painted on pumpkins...amazing!

Messy Messy Maren

I got really busy one day and decided to go all out for dinner...we had a nice dinner and for a surprise had actually made a yummy dessert...BTS. It is made out of pudding and cream cheese and whipped topping on a graham cracker crust. It is one of my kids favorites, but really rich so we don't make it often. We had a lot of leftovers so in the fridge it went. The next day as I was going about my normal routine it was really quiet for far too long.
I went down to the kitchen and this is what I interrupted:

This doesn't look quite as bad as it was...by the time I got the camera she had licked a lot off her fingers and hands.

This is inside my fridge...I still find little brown finger prints in the craziest places!

This is the bottom of the fridge which she was using as a ladder to climb up to the cake.

This is the remainder of the cake...it looks like she liked it!

October Snow...AHHHHHHH!

We truly had a rude awakening this morning...it was hail and then turned to snow....not the way we wanted to start our October...

out the front door

down the porch steps

our side yard...the porch light was on so the picture didn't turn out that well

the back porch

this was taken a half hour after the others...I tried to get a good shot when it was still dark, but I couldn't get close enough (I had bare feet!)

Needless to say, the snow is melted this afternoon and it is about 45 degrees. What happened to the high 80's from last week????

Scripture Dog

For those of you who don't know already...we have family scripture study each weekday morning at 6:30. After we were done everyone went their way (Jeff, Connor and Cheyenne have to leave by 7am). I came through the living room and saw this...I thought it was hilarious...

Stockton the scripture dog!

BYU VS. UTAH STATE

Jeff got a call Thursday evening from our friend Mike...he had two extra tickets to the BYU vs. Utah State game the following evening. Despite having the flu, Jeff jumped on the offer. Connor has been wanting to go, but had other plans already. Cheyenne was babysitting. I couldn't leave the little ones for that long...so....Sierra got to go! She had never been to a BYU game before. I knew she would love it. She was amazed by all the activities going on in the stands, and loved to watch the ROTC do push-ups, and most of all the cheerleaders! The weather has turned quite chilly, so they had to bundle up (it was a night game so no sun to warm them either).

Here is a picture of our friend Mike and his son, Dante.

Here is Jeff and Sierra

A few pictures from the game...
