Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving morning started for me not the same as in years past...I actually waited in my bed until 6:30am to go and get my newspapers from the driveway!!! I know I was as shocked as you...I was awake at 4:30 but was soooo cold I couldn't drag myself outside in my warm jammies to retrieve the paper which is usually half way down the driveway!

After my first round of browsing, Jeff and I were off to do another Turkey Trot. It was 13 degrees when I got out of the car! We did the 5K and then trotted our frozen behinds home. He hurried and got things together for our 1 1/2 drive up north to Jeff's parents (they recently built a home and moved in case some of you who read this hadn't heard). When we arrived it was a whopping 3 degrees!
We had a yummy dinner and pie...and then I played the picture card. Now my family does not like getting pictures done...detest would be a better word. I had this project coming up that I needed a family picture for. The newly updated ones on the blog were great except the room I was hanging this project was not even close to the colors in our family picture...therefore....I brought it up!
Now Jeff's parents built a new home on a lot that used to be Jeff's great-grandparents-the old sheds were there-a perfect background! Jeff did have to shovel a path and standing spot so we could do the pics and we tried to shiver in unison so that we could be done quickly! It isn't the best picture but it does the trick...I'll upload the project picture as soon as I get it hung on my wall!

After dinner it was back home to make my shopping plan of attack...it started on-line about 2am and then in stores about 4:30...like I said before...it was so cold-I wouldn't have even have gone out except Sierra really wanted to go. We froze together and she shopped in her jammies-we had fun. I can't say I was really after anything in particular-my planning ahead gene kicked in long ago so there wasn't much left to really do...now on to decorating!

Turkey Trot

Ok...this will be another entry without a picture...I am not savvy enough to upload one from the internet...someone is welcome to help me with that!
We did a 5K Turkey Trot on Saturday morning...it was a miracle we didn't blow away like Mary Poppins...
We decided to walk it so we could stay together as a family...Jeff pushed the two youngest in the stroller and Sierra and I walked with Annicha. We left three home in bed...party poopers!
It was a cold, windy morning!
Jeff's stake put it on as a food drive-the entry fee was a can of food. I thought that it was a great idea! They are doing another one in the spring...hopefully it will be warmer :)

Quick Trip To Park City

This will be a picture free post...sorry! I had the camera the entire time, but just forgot to take pictures!
Jeff was attending a conference in Park City last week. He arranged for my mom to come spend the night with the school age children and I took Maren with me. We went up for Monday night and came home Tuesday afternoon.
We had to drive up in a snowstorm-I almost turned around a couple times thinking I wasn't going to make it!
We had a really good time. The three of us went to Cafe Rio for dinner on Monday night-I couldn't finish my salad so we took it back to the hotel with us-this bit of info will come in handy later in the post.
We hit the pool and hot tub and then watched some relaxing TV before going to bed. The next morning all three of us went to the exercise room. While Jeff biked and lifted and I ran and lifted Maren tried out the eliptical, played on the exercise ball, the treadmill, etc. While I was getting ready, she had a swim in the tub.
I loaded my arms with all of our things and we headed to the suburban. I couldn't get the keys without setting my salad on the tire. I loaded everything and got Maren buckled and proceeded to leave-we were hitting the outlets before heading home. I forgot one thing...my salad! I had run over my leftover salad! I was so sad!
We had a great time shopping the outlets and I found some great deals. I was still sad about my salad...even now a week later Maren talks about my salad. We were running errands this morning and she out of the blue says,"you ran over your salad!" I agreed and asked to change the subject...she tells me," no, I want to talk about your salad!"
The things that impact the life of a 3 year old! We continued to talk about my salad way to long...we'll see if it was enough to drop it for awhile!

Joran's Visit To Primary Children's

This is a bit overdue, but here it is...
This is our semiannual trip to Primary's. (It was two weeks ago). The room was freezing this morning so we put his jacket on during his appointment.
He is doing well. His sats have dropped a little, but we are good to go for another six months...which is a good thing because they don't have a surgeon who could do his surgery right now. That is a little scary, but hopefully soon they will have someone who is qualified to work on our handsome man :)
