Warm, Sunny St. George

This will be a long post full of pictures...first an explanation. Connor had a soccer tournament in St. George-or so we thought. The majority of the team got hotels, condos or whatever in St. George only to find out that the boys games would be played in Mesquite, Nevada. It's only about 45 minutes away, so we decided to stay put. We left cold, gray Roy on Thursday around noon. We of course went through a bad snow storm on the way, but it was so worth it to come into the warmth and sun on the other side!
Maren had to try out the tub first thing...here she is!

Connor on Friday morning

This is Harry Potter...I mean Connor in his closet-I mean bedroom (it really was a closet...with a bed). He enjoyed having the privacy though.

Here is Sierra in the middle of our bed reading...she spent a lot of the weekend like that!

Friday afternoon, after a morning shopping the outlets, Jeff took the little ones swimming. Mostly they liked swimming in the hot tub...here is Maren.

Jeff, Joran,Maren and Boston in the hot tub

Annicha in the kiddie pool

Maren floating...she was so proud!

Joran

Joran the handsome

After a short practice on Friday evening, there was the team dinner. Connor is in the yellow, his team mates and friends: Nick in the red and Anthony in the white.

Some of the parents and players

Connor's table in the background and Brian and McKade at the front table

Hanging together...it's amazing how well they all get along!

Between games in Mesquite on Saturday. Maren in the middle looking for Connor.

Connor is #7-Joran is running to find him on the right.

Team Pictures-what a great group of boys. Connor is on the front left.

Adding Keith their coach...Connor is still front left.

more team shots-Connor same place

Sunday after church we went to feed the ducks and geese close to where we used to live. Sierra in the back, Jeff, Cheyenne in white, Annicha in pink, Joran, and Maren facing the camera. Connor was so involved in his book he wouldn't get out of the car.

More feeding ducks-now you can see Boston in the yellow.

The ducks weren't cooperating very well.

more ducks

Since the ducks weren't cooperating we decided to drive around to see how the city had changed...the overlook by the airport.

We stopped in at the temple...a few are missing...they were reading in the car...I guess this is the good vs. bad in loving to read...

After the drive the kids went to the playground at the condo. I had brought some sand toys and they were well used by the time we left. Joran loves to play in the sand.

Boston playing on the wall

Maren loves to swing!

Annicha getting ready to hang upside down. She is either swinging from the bars or hanging upside down...she should have been a monkey!

Sierra got into the act to build some castles

catching me taking her pic

This is the Sunday evening group... this condo is a lot smaller than we planned on. We had actually reserved another, but the guy double booked. Even though we had booked first we got bumped to the smaller one- go figure that one. We tried to make the best of itby not being in the condo all the time.

We did a little swimming, a little shopping, a few walks, a little duck feeding, a lot of soccer and just spent some time together...it was nice. We all went home with sunburns and wearing flip flops...only to arrive home to cold, and rain bordering snow. We all just wanted to turn back around!
